Data information

Data Id :
GSE144521 ( lncRNA+mRNA )
Disease :
cholangiocarcinoma ( cholangiocarcinoma )
Title :
RNA profiles in serum and urine extracellular vesicles of patients with cholangiocarcinoma mimicking tumor expression: novel liquid biopsy approach
Percentage of samples :
Cancer : 35 / Control : 61
Data Processing :
The data was preprocessed by Bioconductor lumi package (version 2.22.1). It was log2 transformed and quantile normalized. The normalized data table does not contain all the probes since the ones that do not follow the established criteria are filtered out. Only probes with a detection p-value lower than 0.01 in at least one sample are analzyed.
Data Summary :
Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) represents a heterogeneous group of biliary cancers with poor prognosis. Although the aetiology is generally unknown, factors like Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) predispose to its development. Simultaneously, around 80% of patients with PSC have concomitant Ulcerative Colitis (UC).
Overall design :
Total RNA obtained from normal (NHC) and tumoral (EGI1 and TFK1) cholangiocyte cell lines and from extracellular vesicles (EVs) isolated from serum, urine and cholangiocyte cell line supernatant

Extraction Protocol :
RNA was extracted from the described samples by using miRCURY RNA Isolation kit - Biofluids (EXIQON; ref #300112). Quality control was performed with 2100 Bioanalyzer.
